Year 9 Football Fixture

Well done to our Year 9 footballers, who had a sterling game away at St Bedes and St Joseph’s college

We started the stronger of the two teams and opened the scoring after some great work defensively by Damian G  and some slick passing from Charlie J and Milo B allowing Tom S to slot home smartly. The battle in midfield with some very tall, fast and skillful players from the opposition was matched by Dan B who ran tirelessly throughout the opening exchanges but he had to leave the game picking up a slight thigh strain towards the end of the first half.

Bedes equalised after 20 minutes, latching on to a neat through ball beating Reece H in a one to one collision.  St Bedes finished the half strongly. We regathered our composure in the second half and retook the lead. Milo B scoring after some great passing between Tom S, Oliver R and Alex D. The home team however, with a previous league game under their belts really put us under pressure with twenty minutes remaining, equalising with a large portion of the game still to play.

We hung on, battled hard and some heroics late on by Jacob B in defense and Zack B, really putting themselves on the line for the team. The game finished 2:2, Well done, a great away fixture and much enjoyment from everyone involved.
