Year 9 Options

Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11)
To maintain a broad, balanced Key Stage 4 curriculum we offer a core of subjects for all pupils to study based around the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) subjects, plus a wide ranging choice of additional optional subjects:

Core Subjects
English, Mathematics, Science (Combined Award) or Separate Sciences (Biology,
Chemistry, Physics), Physical Education (PE), Personal Development.

Additional Subjects
Art, Business Studies, Computing, Dance, Drama, Engineering, Geography, History, Health and Social Care, Languages, Media Studies, Music, BTEC Technical Award (PE), Religious Studies, Technology, Textiles, Food & Nutrition

Several subjects are continuing to develop their Individual Learning Pathways that allow for curriculum development to meet individual need. We value the rigour of GCSEs and are true to our comprehensive principles; offering a range of vocational areas of study.

You can find out more at our Year 9 Option Choices Evening on Wednesday 17 January. The purpose of the evening is to provide information to help your child choose the courses they will study in Years 10 and 11. It is the main opportunity for parents/carers to visit subject areas and discuss course details with specialist teachers and is, therefore, a key evening on the school calendar.
