WoW Girl’s Festival

Our school recently had the honour of being one of only four schools in Bradford to  host the WoW Girls Festival, an empowering event as part of the Women of the World (WOW) movement. As part of their tour across the country, the WoW festival brought their vibrant WoW bus to our premises and conducted three engaging workshops tailored for girls in Years 7, 8, and 9.

The festival’s aim was to celebrate women, girls, and non-binary individuals while shedding light on the challenges they encounter. It coincided perfectly with International Women’s Day, aligning with our commitment to gender equity and empowerment.

The WoW Girls Festival featured a diverse range of activities designed to inspire and educate our students. One workshop involved a printmaking session with the local artist, Hannah Toehill, an intergenerational discussion with local women and a chance to explore the WoW bus, a mobile hub of creativity and empowerment. The session on the WoW bus encouraged our students to reflect on their own communities and inspired them to become agents of change through hands-on activities.
