Summer Book Club Trials

In December, we were very excited to be asked to trial four books and help choose next year’s Summer Book Club title for our friends at Book Clubs for Schools. We have worked with them for the last two years to gift every new Y7 pupil a book and accompanying challenges to unite our new cohort and we were thrilled to be a part of this decision-making process with them.

Mrs Whelan recruited six avid readers in year 7 who took on the challenge of reading all four books in just over four weeks and we introduced all year 7 pupils to the books through the front cover, blurb and opening chapter linked into their genre topic.

We are pleased to announce the winner of the Summer Book Club choices for 2025 will be ‘Relic Hamilton’ and our English team are busy preparing and excited to launch this year’s Summer Book Club to our incoming pupils on Transition Day.
