Ardèche

Our recent school trip to the Ardèche region in southern France was nothing short of unforgettable. Over the course of several action-packed days, our students embraced nature, adventure, and new experiences with incredible enthusiasm and resilience.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the two-day canoe journey down the stunning Ardèche River. Covering 34 kilometres, the students paddled through crystal-clear waters, past towering limestone cliffs, and beneath the iconic Pont d’Arc. They even braved some exciting rapids along the way. After a day on the river, the group spent a magical night sleeping under the stars—a truly special moment that many will remember for years to come. Adding to the thrill, the students took part in canyoning through the dramatic Ardèche gorges, scrambling over rocks, sliding down natural water chutes, and jumping into clear pools. It was a real test of courage and teamwork, and every student rose to the challenge brilliantly. The adventure continued with a high ropes course, where students tackled ziplines, rope bridges, and climbing elements high above the ground. It was fantastic to see them encouraging each other and pushing past their comfort zones with such positivity.
Cultural experiences were also woven into the itinerary, with visits to the charming towns of Vallon-Pont-d’Arc and Ruoms. These stops offered a glimpse into local life, with time to explore the markets, enjoy some French cuisine, and soak up the atmosphere of the region. Throughout the trip, the students were an absolute credit to school. Their behaviour, cooperation, and energy were exemplary. They supported one another, showed great spirit, and embraced every opportunity with smiles and determination. This trip not only created amazing memories but also helped the students develop confidence, resilience, and a deeper connection to the natural world. A huge thank you to the staff, guides, and everyone involved in making it such a successful and enriching experience.
