All About Midwifery

Over 50 of of our Year 10 pupils attended a fantastic  All About Midwifery workshop hosted at the BRI Education facility this week. The Year 10 pupils got an insight into the role of a midwife as well as carrying out a range of activities of the day-to-day responsibilities of a midwife; this included: simulated birthing of a baby, monitoring the  mother during pregnancy using specialist equipment and simulations to show how breasts produce milk and the importance of breastfeeding. One pupil said “I really enjoyed it, it was really interested and I learnt a lot.”
