Behaviour Support Assistant

Band 5 (SCP 4-6) 37 hours per week, term time only + 5 days
Actual salary: £16,206 - £17,177

This is an exciting and challenging role within our Behaviour Intervention Centre and the successful applicant will have patience, a sense of humour and an ability to relate positively to young people; all of whom will need particular help to overcome barriers to learning. You will join a dedicated team, providing pastoral support to students, challenging and motivating students and promoting self-esteem.

You will be expected to supervise the isolation room and manage and respond to on-call situations. You will also have the opportunity to work individually with pupils on issues such as anger management, classroom behaviour and whole school initiatives such as anti-bullying and drugs and alcohol awareness.

We are an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school has outstanding facilities and a state of the art learning environment and we are extremely popular and oversubscribed. The school is within easy reach of Leeds, Huddersfield and Wakefield.
