TSS is A Cybersafe School

In July, members of the computing department and a group of our talented Year 8 computing pupils attended the Yorkshire and Humber STEMFest event in Bradford.

Pupils explored various exhibitions, run by different organisations, with the aim of representing STEM careers of the future.  Pupils took part in lots of activities during the day including a specialised ‘Enigma’ workshop run by The National Cyber Security Centre where they worked in one of the codebreaking huts to solve the code breaking challenges.

In the afternoon, we were invited to attend a celebratory award ceremony run by The National Cyber Security Centre.

After taking part in a rigorous application process to demonstrate that we as a school are providing an excellent cyber security education, Titus Salt School was presented with an award for being a CyberFirst Gold Award School; one of the first five schools in Yorkshire to receive this award and one of two schools to receive the gold award.
