Year 10, D of E students have visited local primaries to help educate younger children in staying safe.

As part of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, 18 students worked with PCSO Peril, our Safer Schools Officer on the crime prevention initiative ‘Stranger Danger’. The students researched how to stay safe and then put together an engaging presentation that could be delivered to younger children. One of the groups invented Detective Duck, a colourful character that helped the young children spot danger!

PCSO Peril said: “The standard and delivery of the presentations were excellent; they were creative and imaginatively thought out. “
Mrs Cole, a Learning Mentor from Frizinghall Primary School said: “All the children were fully engaged and thoroughly enjoyed Detective Duck!”
