Jack Whitehead, Year 8, competed at the East Morton Horse Show on 13 June, with his horse Charlie. Proud Jack and Charlie brought home a Reserve Champion rosette for their superb effort.

Jack is currently riding in the working hunter class; competitors tackle a round of jumps and are then put through their paces on the flat; making it an all-round test for horse and rider.

Jack’s equestrian interest started at an early age when he got his first pony, Sophia at the age of 7. In 2013 Jack then rescued Charlie, who had been neglected. It took Jack over a year to nurse Charlie back to health, ready to compete.

Jack said: “I’m really happy we won Reserve Champion, it took us a long time to get Charlie better but all the hard work has paid off, I’m so proud of him.”
