Congratulations to Year 13 learner Cherri who has been awarded with a CREST Gold Award for her outstanding work to create a robotic arm to assist people with arthritis.

STEM enthusiast, Cherri, designed and manufactured the device, producing an excellent report that clearly explained her project. She drew on logical conclusions to show a very strong understanding of science and mathematics. She demonstrated great creativity, all of which earned her the coveted Gold.

CREST is a scheme to inspire young people to think and behave like scientists and engineers, it helps young people to become independent and reflective learners through enquiry-based project work. Now in her final year, Cherri has applied for Higher Level Apprenticeships with transnational consumer goods company Unilever and Leonardo’s, Europe's leading supplier of airborne radars and sensors. Cherri also has offers to read Mechanical Engineering at the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Lancaster, Leeds and Sheffield. We are very proud of Cherri’s accomplishment.
