We are very proud to announce we have been awarded the Bronze Eco-Schools award. Diligent pupils and staff members of the Eco club have worked tremendously hard since October, when the club was first initiated. The Eco-Schools organisation that awarded us with our Bronze status is a global programme empowering children to drive change and improve their environmental awareness, engaging millions of children across 67 countries, making it the largest educational programme in the world.

The media reports daily on pollution and ways humans are destroying the planet. TSS pupils volunteered to help make a difference to our school environment as well as the local community. Since October, the club members have planted over 200 trees on the school site, the conservation area in the school grounds has been maintained and improved and the club members have visited local natural reserves and habitats.

They have taken part in litter picks within the local community, built and installed bird boxes. The pupils organised an ‘Eco week’ focusing on current eco issues such as plastics which included presenting in assemblies and preparing lesson resources to educate their peers. A lot has happened over the past nine months, the dedicated pupils have even planted their first crop in an allotment that they have erected themselves. The club members continue to work hard to make TSS an Eco-School, well done everyone.
