The STEM subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths continues to grow in popularity at TSS and with this in mind STEM Leader, Stuart Green gave our Year 8 pupils a task to create a new logo to represent the four subjects now they are inter-linked. Stuart Green said: “STEM is key to raising both standards and ambitions by bringing together a range of skills, disciplines and learning. Many of our pupils pursue STEM at University, Further Education or through work including apprenticeships. Our commitment to STEM helps our pupils prepare for their next steps and I wanted to give STEM a new look and identity within the school community.”

Producing a logo that is clean and simple takes a great deal of time, creativity and expertise so TSS asked industry professionals ZOLV to get involved; an experienced team of technologists, designers and thinkers.

ZOLV’s Head Designer, Ross Turner shortlisted the top twenty designs to find the three finalists that showed the most originality and creativity in their approach.  The three finalist were Josh Harrison, Cassidy Farrington-Rozee and Liam Hutchinson.

Liam’s logo was the overall winner of the competition and will be digitally produced by ZOLV on their specialised software and be used to represent STEM in and around our school community. Thank you to all the pupils who submitted a design.
