Denys Salt Sixth Form Prospectus When you join the Denys Salt Sixth Form you are recognised and valued as a young adult learner. We value openness and honesty and we recognise each other’s contributions and achievements. Students progress to Higher or Further Education, or employment with high quality training and the overwhelming majority secure their first choice of university. Whatever path you choose, you will be offered advice and guidance to help plan for the future. You will be encouraged to explore all options and take responsibility for your decisions. You will be supported throughout by a team of experienced staff. These include: • Sixth Form Tutors - fully conversant with subject and curriculum options and all aspects of UCAS • Two full time Sixth Form Leaders and a Sixth Form Manager who offer on-going support and advice on all aspects of progression, careers and Sixth Form life • An independent and impartial external careers advisor. All members of our team are available to meet with students and parents/carers to discuss options at any stage. The expertise available ensures students receive a full support package. Students benefit from a range of activities to support progression. These include: • Post 18 Progression events - a comprehensive programme, designed to prepare you for life after Sixth Form • Guest speakers from a variety of employment sectors, apprenticeship providers and universities. • Encouragement to attend university open days • Visits to apprenticeship fairs • Finance information sessions.
