Dear Parent/Carer

You will soon be faced with the difficult task of choosing the right secondary school for your child. This is an important decision which requires careful thought because so much of your child’s future will be affected by the education they receive over the next few years.

We are a school with great aspirations; inclusion and opportunity are at the heart of all that we do. Our focus is on providing all pupils with the opportunities for success which as we know comes in many forms. Success at school is the result of pupils, parents/carers and teachers working together. Ofsted reported that, “The school’s work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare is outstanding. Pupils have developed good social skills and welcome visitors. They are courteous and confident when explaining their work to adults. They are very proud of their school and keen to tell visitors they enjoy coming to school. They appreciate the care and guidance they receive throughout their education”. Visitors regularly comment upon the warm and friendly atmosphere created by the positive relationship between staff and pupils.

Our focus is on providing high quality teaching and learning opportunities supported by excellent facilities for sport, the arts, science and technology in addition to those providing social and extra-curricular benefits. We have a clear focus on ensuring all our pupils achieve to the best of their ability and this is reflected in our examination results; and our 100% success at providing KS4 and KS5 pupils the opportunity to enter employment, education or training. At KS3 we continue to improve standards in all subjects through opportunities for innovation and targeted support; with a focus on developing key literacy skills. We continue to plan for progression to ensure our pupils can be the best they can be through the enjoyment of being at school and achieving.

I am proud to have been part of the school’s increasing success over the last nineteen years and look forward to introducing you to our school on Thursday 23 September, 6.00pm - 8.30pm.
