National Poetry Day 2022

This week we are celebrating National Poetry Day 2022 through special assemblies, English lessons and by inviting all pupils to enter a poetry competition.

This year the organisers of  National Poetry Day have chosen the theme of the environment and in conjunction with the charity organisation Greenpeace they are running a competition to write a poem about the environment and hope which we are encouraging all pupils to have a go at.

There will be writers’ workshops provided by the English faculty for pupils to bring their draft poems so they can discuss how to make them even better and use laptops to word-process and submit their entries. These are running on Mondays in EN01 during late lunch and Thursday in EN05 during early lunch. We are looking forward to sharing some entries with you here before the December 1st deadline.
