Letters

Dear Parent/Carer

This school term will finish on Friday 22 July 2022 at 3.00pm. I wish to thank everyone for their hard work and commitment for what has been another challenging year with the impact of COVID-19, reopening of school following multiple lockdowns, changes to staffing, an Ofsted Section 5 Inspection (for which we retained our Good rating) and the return of full examinations at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. It has been rewarding to host events including KS3 Awards Afternoon Tea, Sports Day, extra-curricular clubs and even assemblies.

Dear Parent/Carer

We are delighted that once again we can host our Key Stage 3 Sports Day, which this year is to be held on Friday 15 July 2022. Members of staff have been making preparations for the organisation of the day and our children have been participating in events during their PE lessons to be as prepared as possible for the big day!

Ofsted report - Good

As you are aware, we had a full Section 5 Ofsted Inspection Wednesday 16 March 2022 and Thursday 17 March 2022 and although we received feedback at the end of the inspection process on Thursday 17 March 2022, which was reported at the Full Board of Governors meeting, we have been awaiting the final report to be ratified by Ofsted, as all reports by inspectors are subject to a thorough checking process.

Ofsted Report

Dear Parent/Carer

Further to my letter dated April 2022 regarding the arrangements we have made for you child during the summer examinations series I have received enquiries on the following two points:

  • Why are Year 11 pupils not allowed to go on Study Leave and revise from home?
  • Why are Year 11 pupils not continuing with lessons up to their examinations?

Wider school Personal Development

Many children who are involved in a broad range of extra-curricular activities and those who achieve and excel at local, regional, and national level events, often are reluctant to be the centre of attention, which we respect, as they do what they do because they want to, not because they want praise and adulation.
