Leah Barber
We are devastated to learn of the tragic loss of the life of Leah Barber. Leah was one of our Year 11 pupils who had her whole life ahead of her but this has unfortunately been taken away before she had the chance to realise her ambitions and dreams. Our thoughts are with her family at this tragic time – their pain and loss must be unbearable. Leah was a kind and caring young person who had a warm smile and personality. Leah always focused on doing her best in her academic studies and she was keen to please with her achievements. Leah had very close friends at our school who will dearly miss her and the whole of our school community is saddened by this loss. We will do everything we can to support those affected during this difficult time.

I am Chair of the Glenaire Primary School Run on Sun Fun(d) Trustees. I write to ask for your help with this highly successful project to energise and enthuse the pupils of Glenaire and its community to understand and combat global warming. I am not asking for money.
We have raised £8000 to put electricity-generating photo-voltaic panels on the school roof. We are shortlisted to receive £7500 from the Marks and Spencer Energy Fund - but we need to be voted for on the following link and are only second in the rankings the M and S area of north yorkshire:

BBC One prime time series‘Eat Well For Less?’ are currently in production with a brand new series of the show. They are currently on the lookout for fun and lively families who would love to save some money on their weekly shop and eat more healthily.
The show follows Masterchef’s Gregg Wallace & award winning greengrocer Chris Bavin on a mission to prove that it is possible for families to save money on their food budget without scrimping on taste and nutrition. They hope that by analysing the shopping habits of UK families, they can help to show where we can source the best and cheapest quality food. Click here to view flyer

Could you be a volunteer for Schools Admissions Appeals Panel?
Parents have the right to express a preference for the school they would like their child to attend. If a place at that school cannot be offered, parents then have the right to appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel. A School Admissions Appeals Panel hears such appeals.
