Salt’s Got Talent!

An enjoyable evening of entertainment was had this week as 12 acts competed to be crowned the winner of Salt’s Got Talent 2022. The range of musical, dance and gymnastic acts had to first impress the staff judging panel before the final decision was made by the live audience.

Thomas, Year 8 was victorious, winning over the crowd with his vocal performance of ‘Spotlight’ from the musical ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’. Thomas was delighted with his achievement but was quick to praise his fellow competitors, “It was very nerve-wracking on the night and I was really just excited to watch everybody else perform. Winning was really the cherry on top!”

The evening finished with a guest performance from former TSS pupil Ash Stevenson and his band ‘Desert Days’. Ash delighted the audience with renditions of ‘Yellow’ and ‘Seventeen Going Under’ as well as performing an original song, ‘Need Somebody’, which is available to download now!

  • Community

    • Good community links add relevance and interest to students’ work. We have strong business links and work closely with voluntary groups, our local primary schools and other organisations. Our growing partnership with local providers is a real strength.

We are keen to be ‘community partners’. Students and staff are active members of local focus groups and attend local forums. As the lead secondary school within the Shipley Achieving Success (SAS) partnership we are proactive in our support with young people and their families. Our Extended School provision is wide ranging and offers opportunities to engage in after school and holiday clubs together with a wide range of workshops.
