Denys Salt Sixth Form Centre

Oxbridge Scholar in the making!

Congratulations to Emily Brown who has secured an offer to read Mathematics at Cambridge University starting in September 2018.

Emily, who has been accepted into Murray Edwards College after a gruelling section process gained her love for learning at a young age and has worked tremendously hard during her time at Titus Salt School; her approach to learning is exemplary gaining her 8A* and 2A grades at GCSE and she is well on her way to achieving the A*A*A in her A Levels of Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Chemistry.

Once Emily had completed her UCAS application in October she then had to sit a difficult Cambridge exam. Based on her performance in this exam she then went on to be interviewed; undertaking two interviews with Cambridge professors in order to demonstrate her ability and understanding in Mathematics.

We are a great school with great aspirations; proud of our history and heritage yet always looking to the future. The two years in Sixth Form are probably the most important in your education and will determine the path you take in life.

There has never been a better time to study in our Sixth Form: our school has excellent facilities, offers a wide choice of courses and our A-level results remain in the top 10% nationally. We are very proud of our students’ achievements with the overwhelming majority progressing to university or directly into a career. This reflects the strong sense of dedication, care and support we offer.

Our Sixth Form curriculum offers opportunities for high achievement and a range of experiences in a friendly and caring atmosphere.

We offer a wide range of subjects to meet both the interests and potential of our learners.

In order to support learners through the UCAS process, application for apprenticeships and other options once they leave school, we have put together a guide, together with links to the most important web pages, which we hope you will find useful.

KS5 Performance Information - August 2017

It was a pleasure to see our Year 13 leaners return for their A Level and Vocational Level results which once again are in line with the national average with learners gaining an average A Level score of a grade C and significantly achieving a grade A/B for Vocational subjects. After an anxious couple of hours on results day for two learners awaiting notification from “Clearing”, we have 100% of our leaners going on to study at University they applied for and all others going on to apprenticeship, college or employment.

At the Denys Salt Sixth Form we have lots of enrichment activities that help to develop and widen your interests and also broaden your understanding. All Sixth Form learners participate in some aspect of our enrichment programme. The menu is broad and diverse and evolves in line with what learners want to do.

Our Enrichment Programme includes:

Our school days are an important part of a lifelong journey of learning and discovery. It is great to hear when a former leaner has just achieved their degree in their chosen subject or that one has secured employment in their chosen career. If you are a former learner, we would love to hear from you. Please email

Here we catch up with some of our former learners.
