Community Art Project
Working with international Artist Tom Wood we are creating a huge piece of art that reflects and celebrates our rich and diverse community. This joint project with students, staff and members of the local community will see the final artwork permanently exhibited on an external wall at Titus Salt School.
Our Community sessions ran until the end of March and everyone worked really enthusiastically and had a lot of fun; especially during the making of some short animations - the biscuit eating alpaca is an unforgettable piece of film making! There were many visits to community groups, including filming interviews with the people we met. Students have also been filmed and these short clips will become part of the mural in the form of QR codes (similar to bar codes) which, when scanned using a smart phone will take you to a website, where you can access the film clips and other material relating to the project. As the project reaches its conclusion, Tom will use the material we have gathered to create the final mural. Watch this space!
Our generous sponsors: Provident Financial plc, Pace plc, the Co-operative Membership Community Fund and Switchgear & Instrumentation Ltd have made the project possible and we would like to thank them for their support.
